Brad Garone is a Boston-based guitarist and composer, a private music teacher by day and an active gigging musician at night. After years of self-taught practice as a young adult, he decided to attend music school at UMass Lowell, entering the prestigious Sound Recording Technology program there. During his time at UMass, he studied under Jazz Guitar great Jon Wheatley (UMass Lowell, Berklee School of Music) and famed trumpet player Walter Platt.

With a strong background in metal, hard rock and improvisational rock, his three years studying Jazz and Fusion at college rounded out his style and chops, all of which are apparent in his playing now. His passion for playing out and playing often led him to join the Lowell-based blues group Big Daddy Blues Band, while still in school, in which he played three gigs a week, every week, for a year straight.

As his tenure at Lowell came to a close, he joined the Boston jam band Mondo Gecko in 2008, commuting to practices and gigs weekly, getting a true taste of playing in a big city. Still hungry for more knowledge and experience, he joined the Ross Livermore Band in winter of 2009 and made an album titled Lost & Found, in which he played guitar, mandolin, trumpet and backed up on vocals.

With 6 solid years of 50-60 shows a year under his belt, he branched out more by joining the Richard James Band for a small tenure, helped form a function jazz quartet called Feed the Bird and had another small tenure with an acoustic rock/soul band called The Dejas. In 2011, with a focus on composing more intricate and demanding music, an ever-expanding student clientele and a more versatile approach to playing guitar, his passion and persistence are as strong as ever and is looking forward to the music that he can help create in the future.
